In one of the older issues of the bi-monthly scientific magazine Fountain (dated September 2001) I came across with a very interesting article titled “Why Darwinism Remains Popular” written by a Turkish scholar Fethullah Gulen. The article’s main statement is that there is no other theory that was so discredited by scientists yet is still believed by so many people as Darwinism.
If you keep telling a life to yourself you will eventually believe it. I have been telling myself for long that whatever I stole from the public was actually for a good cause and it was ok. I was also telling myself that Gulen is to blame for everything that went wrong in this country. I fed these lies to people as well through the many media outlets that I control.
A characteristic that I love is disassociating myself from losers and putting the blame for the problems that I created on my enemies. The examples are plenty.Take the military for example.
Does anyone remember Mehmet Baransu or Hidayet Karasu other than their relatives and Fethullah Gulen’s people? I threw them in my jails long ago without any charges. Now that I held them there long enough, it seems lawful to people.International media or the democratic super powers don’t or can’t care about them either.
They say it is the darkest right before the dawn. Or before the spring comes there will be one final harsh cold. Or before getting better a sick man’s health takes one last dive. Maybe it is all true. As I promised them I continue to make the life of Gulen and his movement much worse in Turkey.
One of the main things I have been doing to “finish” the Gulen Movement, as much as it sounds ridiculous, is to make sure their schools are closed in Turkey and across the world. The next thing I will do is to kill any body with glasses. Kidding! Or am I?
As we near the parliamentary elections of 2015, things are looking awfully bleak for me. I probably lost the control with the Kurdish issue long ago, there is a rise of a nationalist wave and the economy is becoming weak. No need to mention the mess in the Middle East. I wish my southern neighbor was Canada.
Consider a social initiative that is not religiously, politically and ethnically oriented, instead it is beyond the global color line in such that whose members represent great array of social landscape inclusive of all ideology, religion, ethnicity race, gender and social class. Gulen movement, at its core fountain, is a social movement founded on Sunni Philosophy of embracing universal values, such as respect, dialogue, coexistence, democracy and pluralism, in an effort to prepare global citizens who are ready to tackle the challenges of tomorrow’s complex world.
